Louth Rotary’s Memory Walk

After a COVID-19 lockdown break in 2020, Louth Rotary welcomed the return of their Memory Walk in 2021 and ran the event and partnership with Magna Vitae Trust for Leisure and Culture, who are one of their corporate members.

The seventh Memory Walk took place on 15 May 2022 which was again a lovely warm day. The event was a success and enjoyed by everyone. Usually, the walk takes place in Dementia awareness week, but was delayed this year due to the lockdown.

Louth Rotary marshal the walk, as they encourage everyone, regardless of ability to join us and walk. Some walk in support of someone, some walk in memory of someone, and some are making new memories, meeting and making friends on a walk that is about raising awareness of dementia and supporting those living with the illness.

The Inner Wheel Club of Louth provide a cake stall and the contents are very well received by hungry walkers, along with a well-received cup of tea at the end!!

A selection of sunny Sunday photographs from the days in 2021 and 2022:

All the funds raised through generous donations go to support local events and activities which in turn support those who are living with dementia. A previous years walk funded a dementia friendly Winter Games supported on the day by People of Action, Louth Rotarians.

Louth Rotary hope that the walk will continue to be successful and are already looking forward to 2022!

Make Memories Matter!
