In 1953, Cleckheaton Rotary Club marked the Coronation of Queen Elizabeth II by creating a seating area in the grounds of Cleckheaton Library.
In a continued commitment to the local community and to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee in 2012, Rotary installed new metal benches in the seating area.
Now to commemorate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee in 2022, and in collaboration with Cleckheaton in Bloom, Rotary has erected an arch to enhance the seating area.
The arch was created by local Blacksmith firm - T.K. Halford and was installed by Cleckheaton Construction.
Batley & Spen M.P., Kim Leadbeater officially inaugurated the arch at the library garden party on 3rd September - just a week before the Queen sadly passed away.
The garden area with seating and arch will now serve as a lasting memorial to Queen Elizabeth II
