Anne from Sowerby Bridge, Yorkshire, UK

Anne became involved in Rotary 9 years ago all because of an out of the ordinary tombola at a 1940s weekend near Keighley. From small acorns, large oak trees grew after a 6-month taster of Rotary, she joined Haworth and Worth Valley Rotary and she has never looked back.

After a few years, due to a house move, Anne then became a member of Sowerby Bridge Rotary, near Halifax, West Yorkshire. After many projects both locally & internationally, she is currently the President of The Rotary Club of Adventurers which is a Rotary club that spans Yorkshire & North Lincolnshire and it has evolved to reflect modern lifestyles. Anne is also the Membership Lead for large areas of Rotary in Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire. This has meant that she has met local and international leaders, that she never expected she would do through work or home life, and led on projects that have had an amazing impact.

Having attended Rotary events locally, nationally and internationally and managed to attend meetings from Scarborough, UK, through to Chicago, USA, Sydney, Australia, through the wonders of Zoom and more recently a post pandemic in person visit to Houston, USA she feels a truly global citizen and only wants to continue to expand and achieve in her Rotary journey.
